6 Days Gorillas in the Mist
6 Days Gorillas in the mist safari package will enable travelers to explore the western part of Uganda for a wonderful primate experience both chimpanzees in Kibale and Mountain gorillas in Bwindi national parks.
Our safari takes you to Western Uganda, a region known for its temperate climate, serene surroundings, and warm, relaxed, and soft-spoken Batoro people. Lakes, rainforests, mountains, wildlife, and a variety of other natural resources are abundant in the area, supporting and enhancing its attractiveness. Your journey takes you through a typical Ugandan countryside, complete with youngsters yelling “Muzungu,” which is a slang term for a white person, cows grazing on the plains, and occasionally peeping roadside vendors. We travel to Fort Portal, a city nestled in the shadow of the legendary “Mountains of the Moon” and renowned for its tea plantations, cold climate, and rich volcanic soils. The palace of the Toro kingdom is visible sitting atop Karuzika Hill.
On your safari, you’ll go to Kibale Forest National Park, known as the “primate capital of the world” because of its chimpanzees, before continuing to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is home to the silverback gorillas and several other monkey species.
Regarding the Uganda gorilla treks, keep in mind that it will take you into the forest to come across the Mountain Gorillas, the Gentle Giants of this Jungle, as they rush, agilely, and shuffle in search of succulent shoots and fruits that make up their daily diet.

Day 05: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Prepare for the perhaps most important highlight of your safari by getting up early to see the amazing Gentle Giants! After breakfast, we head to the park offices where you will receive a briefing on the dos and don’ts of the jungle before embarking on a life-changing journey that will live in infamy. It is an incredible experience that is difficult to describe verbally due to the vegetation, terrain, smells, colors, and the animated entertainment provided by the gorillas and other residents of the jungle as you trek through the steep, densely forested hills of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest until you finally come across the gorillas hidden in the foliage. After tracking and lunch, we will return to the lodge.
Note: The following tools will be useful as you navigate Bwindi’s dense jungle and deal with its erratic weather: Sunscreen, insect repellent, your passport, camera, hiking boots, long safari pants, long sleeve shirts or T-shirts, and a light rain jacket are essentials that you should not forget. Please refrain from wearing too hot or brightly colored clothing, since these can irritate the local wildlife as well as attract flies to you.
