Lake Mburo national park is located in western part of Uganda dominated by acacia species and open savannah grasslands that are greatly reduced by the ever-increasing woodlands. The park is a home of 68 mammals specis like Impala, eland, klipspringer, bushbuck, waterbuck, topi, bohor reedbuck, buffalo, warthog, hippo, Leopard, hyena, jackal, genet, African civet, serval and 350 bird species like black-collared barbet, bare-faced go-away bird, blue-breasted, kingfisher, shoebill stork, African finfoot, and papyrus yellow warbler.

Game drive.
Despite the fact that the Tented mantana camp is located at the edge of the park, it takes the camp the best destination for game drive. Game drive takes about 2-3 hours using 4WD vehicles and can be either early morning or evening hours to spot early raciers and graciers. The park inhabits 68 mammls species like Impala, eland, klipspringer, bushbuck, waterbuck, topi, bohor reedbuck, buffalo, warthog, hippo, Leopard, hyena, jackal, genet, African and many more.

How to access the park?
Lake mburo national park can be either road transport or air transport. By road transport, visitors may use private or public vehicles to reach the park which takes approximately 5 hours to reach. Visitors may use Kampala- masaka – Mbarara route which worthy the journey because along the way equator is spotted, local communities and many more.
Whereas by air transport, visitors may fly from kajjassi or Entebbe International airport which takes about 40 minutes flight to Mbarara airstrip. Form the airstrip visitors while drive for about 30 miutes drive to the park.

Although the camp can be visited annually, there is always the best time to visit. As visitors explore Uganda, they will experience wet season and dry season however dry season is always the busiest season at the camp because the tents are always full so it is advisable to book in time to avoid inconveniences. Whereas in wet season, is described as the low season thus easy to find the rooms at tented mantana camp however it is also advisable to book in time.
