Kigambira  safari lodge.

Kigarama safari lodge is located in the heart of Lake mburo national park covering an area of 260km² of lakes, swamps, grassland and acacia woodland. Its a 36km drive into the park off the main Kampala-Mbarara highway nestled between lake kigambira and the Rubaga forest. The lodge accommodates family rooms, twin rooms, double rooms which are self-contained with flushing toilets, showers with hot and cold water, balcony, chairs, tables, and many.

The lodge facilitates swimming pool where visitors relax spotting mammal species like hippopotamus, warthogs, restaurant which offers the view of lake mburo as they are enjoying delicious meals, well stocked bar with soft and hard drinks, free wifi, free parking, and many more

Lake Mburo national park is the best destination of game drive which takes about 2-3 hours searching for mammals in the park. game drive involves searching for mammals in their habitats using private vehicles or public vehicles. Some of the mammals spotted include warthogs, zebras, water bucks, Impalas, Topi, bush bucks, giraffes, and many more. The game drive may be done early morning hours and evening hours to spotted early raciers and graciers respectively.

Boat cruise.

Lake Mburo national park derives its name from lake Mburo which offers a beautiful scenery to visitors. While at lake mburo, visitors may do boat cruise in the morning or afternoon depending where on visitors’ itinerary however the activity takes 203 hours. During the cruise, visitors will spot aquatic species like hippos, crocodiles, mammals along lake side like buffalos, waterbucks, bush bucks, elephants, giraffes and bird species like kingfishers, grey craned crane, long horned bill bird.

Lake Mburo national park is a birding paradise for birders. Despite the fact birds move from one place and another, various bird species are spotted during boat cruise and nature walks. Birders are led guides who knows the best spots for various birds however they are advised to pack cameras, binoculars, comfortable boots, water and snacks, rain coat, and many more. The activity may take half day or full day depending on the itinerary. some of the bird species include African wattled lapwing, Bare-faced go-away bird, Black-bellied bustard, Greater painted-snipe, Saddle-billed stork and many more.

Nature walks.

Lake Mburo national park is a best destination for nature walk which involves footing into the park or around the local communities. Despite the fact that lake Mburo national park is in western part of Uganda, it offers visitors the best destination for culture since westerners are known as pastoralists. During culture encounters, visitors are led by guides to local communities to experience cultural life with people including milking, cattle raring, how to make ghee, how to make local meals, visiting local doctors who use herb medicines, and many more.

How to access kigambira safari lodge?

Kigambira safari lodge is located in the heart of the park and can be accessed by either road or air transport. By road transport, visitors may use private or public vehicles like buses to reach the lodge. By road, visitors from Kampala will use Masaka to Mbarara route which takes approximately 4 hours. Although it looks to be a long distance to some visitors, road trip will be worthy it due to beautiful sceneries spotted along the way like Equator, banana plantations, mountains, and many more.

However, by air transport, visitors may fly from kajjassi or Entebbe International airport to Mbarara airstrip which will take about 30 minutes to reach at the airstrip then have about 1hour drive from the airstrip to the lodge. While on the way to the lodge, visitors will spot various mammals like zebras, giraffes, elephants, buffalos, impalas, water bucks, warthogs and various bird species.

What is the best time to visit the park?

Although the park can be visited annually, there is always the best time to visit it. While on Uganda safari, visitors will experience wet and dry season. Dry season is the best season that many visitors visit the park in months of December to February, from June, July and August. Although in wet season, some visitors visit the park. it is advisable to book earlier during dry season because it is known as a busiest season for visitors.
