TOUR OPERATORS IN MOMBASA ARE HOSTED BY UTB.
For a seven-day familiarization trip of 30 tour operators from the coastal city of Mombasa were hosted in Uganda to Consulate in partnership with Kenyans in terms of tourism industry with UTB, Uganda Airlines, Private Sector Foundation, Uganda Tourism Association, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tour Operators and Hoteliers in Uganda and Uganda Wildlife Authority.
To promote domestic and regional travel within East Africa, the excursion follows the consulate’s initiatives. The hosted tour operators explore Uganda places like some of Uganda’s most popular tourist sites that include Ndere Cultural Centre, Namugongo Martyrs catholic shrine, Biharwe Eclipse monument, Lake Mburo, Kibale and Bwindi Forest National Parks.
Uganda offers some of the most exquisite grasslands in all of Africa according to Katherine Odongo, a tour operator with African Quest Safaris in Kenya. Along the main road she was amazingly due to natural beauty spotted around touristic destinations, amazed of parks and wildlife like baboons in kibale national park.
“We absolutely miss having this in our own country. I fell in love with the long-horned cow herds located in western Uganda since they represent an important cultural aspect and precious resource in the customs and ways of life of the people in the Ankole region.” she said.
She continuously said that Uganda has a lot to sell as tourism products to Mombasa and Kenya. Despite her being traveled to Uganda several times, she has never had Uganda gorilla trekking experience which is one of the most exhilarating activities in Uganda. “Getting up and personal with the human-looking mountain gorilla alone was a worthwhile experience that I look forward to doing over and over again.” she said. She enjoyed the beautiful nature and sights while going through the mountain ranges as well as unique nature that she had to record videos and take photos for memories to share with family and friends.
