The 10 days Uganda, Rwanda, and D R Congo safari package provide an opportunity to take part to explore different countries with their national parks and experience a variety of activities including gorilla trekking in Bwindi, golden monkey trekking in Rwanda, volcano hiking in Congo, chimpanzee tracking in Kibale national park, game drives and boat cruise and a city tour in Rwanda. The first destination is Uganda with the most national parks a total of 10 parks. It offers the best wildlife game drives and boat cruise experience together with the most population of chimpanzees found in Kibale national park. Volcanoes national park in Rwanda on the other hand is best known for gorilla trekking and volcanoes. Trekking gorillas in volcanoes is a bit easy and accessible unlike in other national parks although their gorilla permits are costly compared to Uganda and Congo. On the contrary, Virungas national park in DR Congo is most popular for the Nyiragongo volcano and both mountain gorillas and lowland gorillas. Hiking the Nyiragongo volcano is the best activity to do in DR Congo and an amazing experience one shouldn’t opt out of, it contains a burning lava lake at the top created in a web-like form that attracts visitors each year to come to Virungas national park.

Safari Highlights
Day 1. Arrival in Entebbe
Our guide will pick you up on arrival at Entebbe International Airport and be transferred you to your hotel to relax while preparing for a busy schedule the next day. Dinner and overnight at Marriott hotel (luxury) 2Friends Beach Hotel (midrange)
Day 2. Transfer to Kibale national park
In the morning, you will be picked up from the hotel and start your journey to Kibale forest national park, a drive that will take 5 hours. You will reach Kibale early for lunch and then in the afternoon. You can engage in a nature walk to Bigodi wetland where you will encounter lots of primates as well as birds. Or you may go for a nature walk to Crater Lake. Dinner and overnight Dinner stay at Primates lodge (Luxury)/ Treetops Lodge (mid-range)
Day 3. Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Wake up early for breakfast after setting off to park headquarters for a briefing from the head park guide about what to expect and how to conduct yourself during the chimpanzee tracking adventure. The chance of seeing chimpanzees is high since the park populates a number of approximately 1500 in number. Chimpanzee trekking takes 3-5 hours. Unlike mountain gorillas, chimpanzees love spending time on top of trees and they are so mobile, that they will require to keep following them even after finding them. After tracking, you will head back to the lodge to have lunch and check out. The driver will be waiting to transfer you to Queen Elizabeth national park in the evening. Day 4. Game drive and afternoon Boat cruise.
Wake up early morning for breakfast after going for a morning game drive along the Kasenyi plains to spot the early morning risers and nocturnal animals before they retreat to their sanctuary, a variety of animals can be seen including buffalos, elephants, leopards, giraffes, and various species of antelopes, expect to spot some bird species including migratory and endemic birds, after the game drive, return to the lodge for lunch and relax.
After lunch and relaxation, the driver will take you to catch the boat cruise along the Kazinga channel that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. The Kazinga channel attracts plenty of wildlife inhabits in the park, expect to see hippos in plenty, crocodiles, buffaloes, antelopes, and water birds, along the banks. Dinner and Overnight stay at Elephants plain Lodge (luxury), and Enganzi Lodge (mid-range)
Day 5. Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Wake up early in the morning for breakfast, check out of the lodge, and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest passing through Queen Elizabeth national park via the Ishasha sector with the purpose to spot the famous tree-climbing lions and other animals that can be seen along the way. Continue the route to Bwindi impenetrable national park arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Agandi Lodge/ Four Gorillas Lodge (Luxury)/ Bakiga Lodge (mid-range)
Day 6.Gorilla tracking in Bwindi and transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Have breakfast very early in the morning and transfer to park offices for a briefing about Mountain Gorilla trekking by the park authorities. The briefing usually takes about 45 minutes. After you will head to the forest to track the gorillas, the whole experience will take about 2-6 hours depending on the destination of the gorilla family trekked .once you encounter them you are allowed to spend one full hour with them. Coming in contact with the gorillas is one of the most enchanting experiences, you will have a chance to observe, learn their behaviors and take pictures from a distance. After an hour, your guide will lead you back to the starting point where your driver will readily be waiting to transfer you back to the Lodge to refresh. You can have a community tour around the nearby villages with your local guide but it’s optional, then return for dinner and overnight at Ingagi park view lodge, gorilla’s nest lodge options
Day 7: Transfer to volcanoes national park
Wale up early for breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on a journey to volcanoes national park passing via the Kyanika border to cross to Rwanda. Reaching Kigali in the afternoon, have lunch and after you will have a city tour visiting different important memorable sites such as the 1994 Rwanda genocide memorable center, ibyiwacu cultural center, the main market, artisan shop and if time allows also visit the tomb of Dian Fossey and later transfer to the lodge. Day 8: Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Virungas national park
You will have early breakfast as usual and then set off to the park offices for a briefing about golden monkeys, you will head into the forest to search for them. Golden monkeys like residing on top of trees, they are attractive due to their bright color, quickness, active, playful, and considered endemic. Unlike mountain gorillas, golden monkeys love flash photography and are not aggressive to humans, while in the jungle expect to see other small primates like black and white colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, and baboons. Once you are done, return for lunch and later head towards Rwanda- Congo border and cross to Congo. Dinner and overnight at Mikeno lodge, Bukima tented camp options.
Day 9: Hike Nyiragongo volcano
Take your breakfast in the morning and then head to Kibatsi village where the Nyiragongo starting point is located. You will be briefed on how to hike, and porters and cooks will be hired to escort you to the hike after beginning your hike towards the Nyiragongo summit which will take about 4-6 hours to reach the summit. On your hiking, you will experience a variety of tree plants and forests that harbor wildlife in the forest and notice that the higher you climb the mountain, few or less vegetation will be seen, this is because active eruptions occur and lava spread around the mountain and destroy all the green vegetation. Reaching the summit, you will be able to view the beautiful burning lava lake created on top of the volcano and expose to other scenery such as the Rwenzori Mountains, a view of Lake Kivu, and nearby Goma town. Have dinner prepared by cooks and overnight at the cabins built on the top.
Day 10: Descend Nyiragongo and departure.
After experiencing the beautiful and charming moment on top of the volcano you will descend down to its base, here you can view Virungas national park in clear sight and Kahuzi Biega national park in case you missed it while hiking up. Reaching the bottom, you will be transferred to the border, have a permit visa to Rwanda, get your driver, and forward to Kigali, drop you at the lodge or at the airport if you have an evening flight.
