3 Day Gorilla And Lake Bunyonyi

Our 3 Days Gorilla trekking and Lake Bunyonyi safari package is designed to offer visitors an amazing experience while tracking gorillas in Uganda. The tour involves an encounter with the famous and endangered mountain gorillas before mitigation on Lake Bunyonyi for canoeing, island hopping, and community walks.
The Bwindi impenetrable national park is a UNESCO World Heritage site because of its biodiversity. The park hosts the highest population of mountain gorillas in the world including the highest number of habituated Gorilla families in Uganda and over 14 groups that are open to tourism. An Encounter with mountain gorillas is the best unforgettable wildlife experience.
Bwindi impenetrable national park that contains other attractive features apart from seeing the gorillas, there is an opportunity to explore dense tropical rainforest that allows you to discover amazing landscapes, beautiful scenery, and unique creatures. The forest consists of over 10 primate species which includes the overall mountain gorillas, baboons, chimpanzees, blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, Colobus monkeys, and L’Hoest’s monkeys, 350 bird species, 200 species of trees, 310 butterflies, 120 mammals, and 50 species of reptiles.
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Our driver will pick you up from your hotel, brief you about the tour, and start the journey driving to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. It’s quite a long journey that takes about 8-9 hours but relax, you won’t get bored because it covers a lot of exciting and beautiful scenery along the way including the beautiful landscape, mountains, lakes, and rivers, the fantastic long-horned Ankole cows. As you approach the park, you will be welcomed by the beautiful hills of Kisoro and Kabale.
You will have stopovers along the way first at the equator crossing at Kayabwe for photography, proceed to have lunch preferably at the Igongo Cultural Centre in Mbarara. After lunch, you will continue the route to the park in the evening to check in to the lodge, refresh and relax. Dinner and overnight at Ichumbi gorilla lodge, Bakiga lodge, and Gorilla safari lodge
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Wake up early and take your breakfast as you wait for the driver to take you to the park headquarters for briefing. The briefing covers everything you need to know about the park and trekking gorillas. You will be assigned in groups of 8 members according to gorilla families based on your physical fitness. After the briefing, you will head towards the dense forest escorted by a park ranger and a guide to different points depending on the gorilla family you are allocated. This is the best opportunity to wander into the rainforest, explore and discover the realities of nature and the wilderness of the park. Gorilla trekking can take between 1 hour to 5 hours depending on the gorilla family you are assigned.
During the trek, you will encounter rich tropical forests with amazing biodiversity, birds, smaller primates and plants and trees, and animals. Only one hour is allowed to spend with the gorillas. Take your time to observe and study their behaviors, take as many photos and videos as you want but remember a distance of 7 meters away from the gorillas. After your one hour has elapsed, you will be led out of the forest back to the headquarters to meet the driver to take you back to your lodge for lunch and relaxation, later you will check out from your lodge, and be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi for the evening leisure. Day 3: Activities at Lake Bunyonyi and Departure
Wake up early to a beautiful sunrise, birds, and amazing views of the lake, have breakfast and head to the lake to start your activities. Lake Bunyonyi is among the best tourist destinations in Uganda due to its beautiful scenery. You can do many activities, including popular ones such as canoeing, island hopping, birding, nature walks, cave exploration, mountain biking, and visiting nearby communities.
Don’t forget to visit the punishment island where a number of girls who got pregnant before marriage were abandoned and left to die, some were rescued by single men who could not afford the bride price. After you are done with the activities, you will return to the lodge, check out, and embark on a journey back to Kampala.
